Radha Sutra: Stories Across Borders
A digital culture exchange project by FolkDeep, creating a thread between Belfast and Delhi through folklore, memory, photography, rituals, folk art and everyday cultural heritage.
Meaning Behind Radha Sutra
Radha Sutra carries the name of the founder’s mother, Radha.
Sutra means thread. Together, Radha Sutra represents a thread of stories, memory, care and connection.
Just as FolkDeep carries the light of the founder’s father, Radha Sutra carries the presence, strength and grounding of her mother. It is one of FolkDeep’s central projects and reflects the belief that stories are held, carried and connected through love, family and community.
Project Overview
Radha Sutra connects communities between Belfast and Delhi through stories, images, folk traditions, home rituals, street heritage and lived cultural memories.
It explores how culture travels across water, borders, generations and communities — through people, families, objects, festivals, food, art, photographs and everyday practices.
Honouring stories that are often carried quietly.
Radha Sutra gives value to everyday culture and creates space for people to share memory, identity and heritage in their own voice.
