Phase Two of Radha Sutra: Stories Across Borders, Irish Fairy Folklore Workshop with Children at Udaar Foundation

After introducing Irish culture through Céilí dance, we moved into the magical world of Irish fairy folklore — stories of fairies, nature, imagination, childhood memories, and the hidden worlds that live inside cultural traditions.

The children were curious, excited, and beautifully engaged throughout the session. Through storytelling, they explored another cultural world — learning not only about Irish fairies and folklore, but also about Belfast, its landscapes, nature, stories, and cultural imagination.

One of the most special parts of this workshop was that our dear friend from Belfast, Deirdre Nic An tSionnaigh, shared her childhood memories, local experiences, and Irish folklore stories with us. These stories were then narrated to the children in Hindi, so they could connect with them in a language that felt familiar, warm, and accessible.

And then came the most beautiful part — the children reflected through drawing.

They placed what they imagined, felt, and understood onto paper. Fairies, trees, magical worlds, nature, colours, and stories came alive through their own creativity.

It was joyful.

It was curious.

It was full of wonder.

This is what Radha Sutra is about — creating cultural exchange that is not only about information, but about imagination, emotion, participation, and connection.

One story, one child, one world at a time. 🌿✨
